At Taylor Made Wealth Coaching we believe in the investment in all our futures which is our children. Below are sites that we have found to be helpful in a variety of ways.

There are some concepts that Taylor Made Wealth Coaching adds to the basic ideas shared in these website. One of our primary efforts is to shift your habits as well as your children’s habits away from saving to focusing on investing especially as young people.

In addition to having a savings account your child should also have an expense account and an investing account and .....SO SHOULD YOU! More on this in our coaching sessions.

For the most hands on experience we recommend Young Ameritowne which was founded in Denver Colorado and offers banking and loans to our youth. Yes they really do believe and support entrepreneurs by putting their money where their mouth is.

Hands on - Active participation
If you are looking for a great way to actively participate in a financial experience that a small town offers check out
www.yacenter.org; founded right in Denver Colorado.
This organization offers the only bank solely catering to young people. You have to be under 22 and it is FDIC insured just like any other real bank.

Young American Foundation for financial education also offers an opportunity to young entrepreneurs to “sell & show their wares" at the entrepreneurs market place.

Rural AmeriTowne is a unique hands-on lesson in free enterprise that introduces young people to the basic principles of our economic system by allowing them to run their own town in a rural setting. The program was designed to provide young people with relevant life skills.

Sites that nurtures children's desire to learn more...

This site provided by ING direct has a great interactive game to start your students learning about the world of investing. They do have to be able to read, but the sky is the limit ( actually space) from there! Planet Orange has a teachers resource, parents guide and lots of interactive quizzes and animated examples to make learning fun both at home and at school. Blast off to Planet Orange and the Teachers Resource Center, and open a child’s eyes to the world of money!

Another great site that offers info for teens, kids, parents and teachers. You will get definitions and lots of great basic ideas.

As a parent or grand parent there are lots of things you can do to help your loved ones be as well educated on finances as they can be.
Here is a site with specific tips for you including a discussion on allowances vs. jobs and tips on saying NO to the charge card for young teens, how to teach appropriate use of credit cards and when to teach it. Lots of food for thought.
